Today is National RED Day.

Remembering Everyone Deployed. RED Day, is a National Day of Remembrance for our Service Members currently deployed around the world. Today Habitat Hillsborough staff will volunteer to paint and landscape the home of Alonzo Benton, a U. S. Army Veteran who served from 1953 to 1955.

Over twenty (20) Habitat for Humanity Affiliates will pay tribute by hosting similar work projects for local veterans in their communities nationwide.

The Home Depot Foundation Critical Repair Program is funding the roof replacement work.

Something to know about Alonzo; Alonso’s Wife, Pearline, passed away 15 years ago. They had four children together. Today he has 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His grandson Devon Green lives with him and helps Alonzo keep up the yard and takes him everywhere he needs to go.
