Habitat Hillsborough ReStores receive Ashley furniture donation valued at $25,000

Ashley Partners with Habitat for Humanity to support affordable housing efforts.

Tampa, FL (April 15, 2022) — Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County ReStore thrift operations received a large donation of outdoor furniture products valued at $25,000 from Ashley, the largest retail furniture store brand in North America. The donated furniture items were featured April 14th at an outdoor event at Tampa’s Sparkman Wharf that Ashley hosted to relaunch its Outdoor Collection.

The $25,000 in Ashley Outdoor product was donated to Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County to be sold at all three of the Habitat Hillsborough ReStore thrift locations. The donation includes four spacious lounge vignettes, tables fit for summertime activities with friends and family, rugs, chairs, and end tables. Habitat Hillsborough will be able to sell this furniture at their ReStore thrift locations, which generate vital funding for the organization. All proceeds from the donated Ashley furniture will benefit the Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County home building program that helps stabilize local low-income families through affordable homeownership.

“Ashley is fortunate to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County in support of strengthening our local hometown community through their affordable housing efforts,” said Kelly Davis, Ashley Senior Marketing Director. “Our community has been rapidly growing which has caused a serious demand for affordable homes, and we’re privileged to come together with Habitat to further build and inspire the love of home. We are certain this furniture donation will benefit those in the community who are needing it most while driving Habitat for Humanity further on their mission to provide affordable and safe shelter for all.”

“We are extremely grateful for this generous donation from Ashley,” said Dan Crowther, Habitat Hillsborough Chief Retail Officer. “Donations of this quality are popular with our ReStore customers, which translates into a significant monetary gift that helps support our Habitat building program.”

The April 14th event Ashley hosted transformed Sparkman Wharf’s lawn into an urban oasis where influencers and general admission guests were able to immerse themselves in a curated brand experience relaunch of the furniture retailer’s Outdoor Collection. The event was designed for guests to gain inspiration to bring the season of outdoor living back to their own homes while enjoying an evening of summertime festivities and a live Tampa Bay Lightning watch party.

Please note: The donated furniture will be divided among the three Habitat Hillsborough ReStore locations and available to purchase on Saturday, April 16th at the 3738 East Hillsborough Ave. location. On Tuesday, April 19th the Silvermill Plaza and Brandon ReStores will also have additional Ashley product available to purchase.

The Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County ReStores are located at 3738 East Hillsborough Ave. and at 11236 West Hillsborough Ave. (in the Silvermill Plaza) in Tampa, and at 501 W. Robertson St. in Brandon. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
